The recently opened Everyone Active Basildon Sporting Village is both a sporting and leisure facility for the local community and has been named in LOCOG's official Pre-Games Training camp guide for London 2012.

Systems installer PEL Services was tasked with providing and installing public address and sound equipment at a number of different locations around the Sporting Village site.

Altogether, some five different loudspeaker models from Bosch were specified and fitted by PEL, one of which was the company's new hemi-directional loudspeaker.

Delivering clear speech and excellent music reproduction - even at the boundaries of its projection range - this was used to provide coverage of the Sports Hall, Gym Hall and Gym Exercise Hall.

Elsewhere, the Bosch two-way full range cabinet loudspeaker - developed to meet the demands for high quality foreground and background music in either indoor or outdoor applications - was installed in both the Athletics Stadium Grandstand spectator seating and the Main Pool spectator seating.

Similarly, the Bosch horn loudspeaker was used in the Plant Areas of the Sporting Village.

For Reception and the Climbing Wall section, Bosch sound projectors were chosen. With a 90˚ opening angle, fewer units are required to cover a given area; they also feature water and dust protection to IP 65.

Finally, the Bosch ceiling loudspeaker was specified for the Wet Change Areas, not only for its power but also its IPx4 front water-protection.
