Pound workouts use the Ripstick weighted drumstick
Pound is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming.
Created by California-based drummers Kirsten Potenza and Cristina Peerenboom, the workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics and Isometric poses into a 45-minute series. It can burn between 400 and 900+ calories per hour.
Pound founders Kirsten and Cristina created Ripstix - lightly weighted drumsticks - to use in the class to add resistance and to drum along to rock, rap, dubstep, pop and old school music.
The class aim is to strengthen and sculpt infrequently used muscles for a leaner, slimmer physique.
Pound can be modified for any fitness level of fitness and focuses on fun. It’s available at gyms across the US, including CRUNCH, and abroad, including Madonna's Hard Candy Fitness.
