The iconic landmark of Loch Ness in Scotland – supposedly home to the mythical Loch
Ness Monster – is to benefit from a £2m (US$3m, €2.7m) investment to boost inbound
tourism in a move that the government predicts will generate an extra £14m (US$21.1m,
€18.7m) tourism spend by 2019.
Plans have been approved for a AU$90m (US$83.4m, €62.4m, £49.7m) waterpark on the
Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia, to include a wave pool, waterslides, canoeing
experience, 120-room hotel, restaurants and a holiday village.
